It was around 6.00pm that time when my friends and I decided to head back to Patricia's home for a nice and hot steamboat dinner. After buying our monorail ticket at Berjaya Times Square, we waited for it to come. As the first monoral arrives at 6.15pm, we were amaze to see how pack it was for us to get in. There's just no space in it! It's like humans squeezing in a can, just like sardins minus the sauce. Hahas....Knowing that lots of pick-pocket cases happen in KL at this point of time, we decided to take the next trip. Moreover, we girls do not want any unwanted acts perpetrated unto us ( you know what i mean )
Few minutes later, the 2nd monorail arrives. It is still pack with humans but better than the first so we went in. People were pushing and squeezing their way into the monorail not bothering whether people are comfortable with it. Perhaps, what they're thinking at that time is that they would want to get back home as soon as possible so just SQUEEZE!! A friend of mine was feeling uncomfortable with this situation as she felt that someone is trying to touch her front pocket and this Indonesian guy kept coming close to her. At the next stop, out of sudden this Indonesian guy told his friend to get off at this station. My friend felt that something is amiss, so she felt her left jeans pocket. Her Handphone is GONE!! Lucky her that she realise it instantly before the monorail door closes.
Xin Mi: Eme, the guy took my Handphone!
Me : What?! Quickly go after him la.... (Looking at my the other 2 friends). I follow Xin Mi,
meet you at the next stop.
Then I quickly dash out of the monorail running towards her and I saw that she manage to catch the Indonesian guy. She was arguing with him. When I got there....
Xin Mi: Eme, he don't want to admit. I know he took my handphone.
Me : (I pull his hand furiously not wanting him to get pass the exit). Did you take her handphone?
Indon Guy: Mana ade? Mana ade? Saya tak ambil!!
At that moment, I was afraid that he might punch me on the face or do something terrible. He was trying to get pass the exit....Everyone was looking at us wondering what was the commosion all about.
Me : (Looking at one guy perhaps at his late 20's) Can you please help? This guy took her handphone.
At that moment, some uncles around their late 30's or early 40's heard my statement. One of them shouted at the Indonesian guy...
Uncle: Kamu ade ambil dia punya handphone tak?
Indon Guy: (Looking angry) Saya tak ambil!!
Uncle: Girl, what is your number? I call your number.
Xin Mi: 012-....
Before she finish saying out her number that Indonesian guy took her handphone out of his pocket and put it on the counter. My friend and I quickly took back the handphone feeling glad that we manage to get it back. At that moment, both of our hearts is pounding very hard. We never expect this could happen to us during this trip. According to my another 2 friends who also manage to get down the monorail just in time said that all the uncles scolded him but he manage to get away. We then said thank you to those who help us at that time, otherwise, Xin Mi will never get back her handphone. Luckily there are some good Samaritans who are willing to give a helping hand and not just watch.
My friends and I were still shock due to this incident. When we board the next monorail to KL Sentral, we stood together in a circle watching each other's back until we got to our destination. At the KTM station around 6.50pm, the station was also pack with many office people. Not wanting the first incident to happen again, we let 2 KTM to passby untill there's not much people left. We are willing to wait for another 1/2 hour than to go through the incident again. When the 3rd train arrives, we decided to board it. Unlucky for us, the door stops around 1 meter away from where we're standing. So we quickly rush to the nearest entrance. As usual, people were pushing from back, left and right trying to get in. My My!! That feeling was Horrible!! The next thing I know, my friend Xin Mi fell into the gap between the platform and the train door. One leg was up the other down. I'm shocked! Then I saw people pulling her up. On the train, she told me that her leg was painful and perhaps it's bleeding. True enough when we got home her shins was full of scratches and there's blue blacks on her thigh. 26th May 2008 was indeed a day that we 4 girls will always remember!!
